Jake Paul has repeatedly claimed on camera that 90,000 fans will attend his fight with Mike Tyson. The event is set for November 15 at AT&T Stadium. With less than two weeks remaining, it’s unclear if this number will be achieved.
Ticket prices for the cheapest seats have dropped to $30 this week. This price reduction has fueled speculation about the event’s potential attendance. The fight is being marketed as a major boxing spectacle.
Record-Breaking Potential
Joann Mignano, Tyson’s publicist, told USA TODAY Sports the event could match Dodger Stadium’s 56,000-capacity crowd. Such a turnout would make it Tyson’s largest audience ever. AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, can seat 80,000 fans. With standing-room-only tickets, the capacity could reach 90,000, according to Tad Carper, the Cowboys’ Senior Vice President of Communications.
Mignano confirmed the Tyson-Paul fight has already broken Texas’ combat sports live gate record. However, she did not provide specific revenue figures. For comparison, the Canelo Alvarez vs. Billy Joe Saunders fight at AT&T Stadium in 2021 had a reported live gate of $9 million.
Ticket Sales Uncertainty
As of now, hundreds of tickets are available on Seat Geek for $50 or less. Seat Geek, the fight’s official ticket seller, has not disclosed how many tickets have been sold. MVP Promotions, co-founded by Paul, has not responded to inquiries regarding sales figures.
Cameron Papp from Seat Geek stated that they are awaiting a decision from their partner, the Cowboys, on whether to release standing-room-only tickets. Paul’s claim of 90,000 attendees was made during a promotional event at AT&T Stadium on September 15.
On Seat Geek, two ringside seats are listed at $25,000 each. However, these high-priced tickets appear unsold. Recently, MVP Promotions announced a $2 million VIP package, first offered in May, but its sales performance is unknown.
For perspective, the largest U.S. indoor boxing event was Canelo Alvarez vs. Billy Joe Saunders, drawing 73,126 attendees at AT&T Stadium on May 8, 2021. By comparison, the Guinness World Record for attendance at AT&T Stadium was set during the 2010 NBA All-Star Game, which drew 108,713 fans.
