On Wednesday morning, Donald Trump praised Tesla CEO Elon Musk as he moved closer to securing the White House once again.
“A new star is born,” Trump told an enthusiastic crowd in West Palm Beach, Florida. “Elon is an incredible guy.”
Trump highlighted Musk’s support in Pennsylvania, where the billionaire actively campaigned for him. Musk, who is the world’s richest man, contributed over $130 million to back Trump and other Republican candidates. On Tuesday night, Musk announced that his super PAC, America PAC, would remain active beyond the election.
By around 2:30 a.m. ET, Trump was near victory after being declared the winner of Pennsylvania, the most crucial swing state, effectively eliminating Vice President Kamala Harris’s path to the presidency.
Joining Trump on stage, GOP vice-presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance celebrated Trump’s journey, calling it “the greatest political comeback in American history.”
After leaving office amid the controversy of the Capitol riot, Trump is now close to becoming only the second president to lose re-election and later reclaim the presidency.
Trump also expressed confidence in the GOP retaining control of the House of Representatives, despite networks not yet confirming the outcome. He praised House Speaker Mike Johnson, saying he was doing “a great job” and was the “right choice” for the position.
To wrap up, Trump called for unity, urging Americans to “set aside the divisions of the last four years” and promised to follow through on his campaign commitments.
