Microsoft has reported that most of its application services, including Outlook and Teams, have been restored after a significant outage on Monday morning.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) around 11 p.m. ET, the company confirmed that “functionality has been restored for all impacted services, except for Outlook on the web, which is still experiencing issues for a small number of users.” Microsoft also mentioned that it is continuing to investigate the issues related to Outlook on the web and mail queue delays.
The outage, which affected services such as Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams Calendar, began early on Monday morning. DownDetector, a service that tracks tech outages, began reporting widespread issues at around 8 a.m. ET. By just before 11 a.m. ET, thousands of user complaints had been logged, with many turning to social media to share their frustrations.
This outage follows a similar series of disruptions that affected Microsoft 365 users in September.
Users Share Their Frustrations on Social Media
As the outage continued, many users expressed their frustration on social media. One user tweeted, “#Microsoft outages ruining my planned productive work day. Phone calls and handwriting might restore some order.”
Another user wrote, “As much as I appreciate a chill work day, Microsoft, I need you to fix this Outlook issue. I’m trying to get all my work done before the holiday.”
Microsoft has reassured users that it is working on resolving the remaining issues, particularly with Outlook on the web.
