Cooney’s Short but Bright Career
Cooney started his career with a big win. He won the Celtic super-featherweight title in November 2023 by defeating Liam Gaynor in Dublin. He had to take a year off due to a hand injury. After his break, he returned to boxing in October 2024, beating Tampela Maharusi.
Sadly, his fight against Nathan Howells was his last. He was a rising star in boxing, and many believed he had a bright future ahead.
