A Russian missile strike on an infrastructure facility in the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia on Tuesday has left at least six people dead and 24 injured, according to regional governor Ivan Fedorov. The attack caused a fire at the site, adding to the casualties and damage.
Later in the day, another Russian assault using drones targeted Kharkiv, where a five-story residential building was damaged. Two women sustained injuries and received treatment on-site, reported Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov.
Both Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv, located near active frontlines, have seen a surge in Russian strikes in recent weeks. Zaporizhzhia is a key logistical and industrial center and home to Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, making it a strategic target. Kharkiv, meanwhile, has experienced repeated strikes on its populated areas, with a recent attack on October 28 damaging the UNESCO-protected Derzhprom building, a historical landmark.
On Sunday, another Russian attack in Kharkiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district injured at least 15 people, further escalating concerns over intensified strikes in the region.
